Raylene (Ray) Boggs                          James (Ben) Howard Boggs

At the age of 15 I married my wonderful husband, James (Ben) Howard Boggs, Ben has retired now and is the chief cook and bottle washer of our household. Together we had two children a son, James Patrick and a daughter, Melony Jane. James has three wonderful children, Patrick, Haliegh & Ricky.  Melony Jane married Scott Justus; they have four wonderful children Ben, Scott, Mike and Rebecca.

Until a few years ago when my poor health took power over my body, I was the rural mail carrier. I have had to live with asthma all my life and now it has developed into COPD, (a lung disease). The doctors tell me it was not caused from smoking, as I really didn't smoke, other that a few as a teenager. In November 2000, my lungs decline and I am now living with the aid of oxygen all the time. I had to then leave my employment as the rural mail carrier. I am on the list for a lung transplant, however we will leave that in God’s hands, as he is the one in charge. Needless to say, I can no longer cook, clean or do any of the day-to-day chores I enjoyed doing before COPD. Thank God, for Blessing me with my wonderful husband Ben, (now retired) he is taking care of us plus he is a fantastic cook and housekeeper.

I have always wanted to write poetry, I've never had anything published other than in the local papers. But I have written for years. I hope that some of my poetry will be a Blessing to you. May God Bless all, Raylene
